While I cannot argue the irresistibleness of little babies (especially chubby ones), I must admit that I find parenting more enjoyable/rewarding/fun the older my children get. Like a fine wine, they get better with age. My mom has always told me that I've gotten better with every year. She still tells me that, which means I must have started out pretty rotten. :)

This fine wine turned 2 on June 12th and we were lucky enough to celebrate it with our family.

It began with a homemade cake, that always looks easier to make than it actually is. It also never looks
quite like the picture, but I gave it a valiant effort.

Presents were opened and very appreciated.

Candles were blown out and the cake was enjoyed (may I add, it had a layer of raspberry mouse filling...mmmmm).

A last minute picture was taken before everyone headed home. We were blessed enough to have 1st cousins and 2nd cousins join us.

Even a (faint) double rainbow was seen.
What does it mean?!? It must be good luck.

Cash's official birthday was Sunday and luckily we had Stake Conference, which meant we didn't
really have church, so we got to spend the morning being lazy. He opened up ALL of the gifts from Carolina. Lina has spent the last 2 months going "shopping" around the house and wrapping gifts for Cash's upcoming birthday. It has been very sweet of her.

Each gift came with a personal message from Carolina via mommy's handwriting. This one includes the message that Lina is the best sister. You love her.

Carolina had forgotten she'd wrapped Tiggs, and immediately confiscated him.

John and I have had this gift hidden for about 6 months. It was luckily a hit.

Cash "smiling" (aka closing his eyes) for the camera.

While part of me will miss having a chubby little baby, I love watching my kids grow up and seeing them become their own little person.
